Welcome! If you will have a child in Kindergarten for the 2025/2026 academic year they will be a Lion Scout starting on 1 September. In Cub Scouts den leaders are volunteers from among the parents of the scouts in a particular age group. In this case, one or more of the parents of the incoming Lion scouts would volunteer to be the den leader. This year the Tiger den, led by Crystal Parker and Ben Smale will be combining both Lions and Tigers in an effort to get all new scouts off to a great start and provide an environment for a Lion parent to become familiar with the role before volunteering to lead the den.
In addition to being able to personally facilitate your scouts' success and enjoyment of cub scouts, this is an extremely rewarding position that can be filled for a minimum of a few hours a month. Our pack has several volunteers who are willing and able to help you be successful as a den leader and pass along what they have learned.
If you know that your scout will be joining our pack as a Lion next year and you are interested in learning more, please contact Crystal Parker (crystalparker001@gmail.com) and let her know of your interest. We have put together a New Lion Den Leader guide that will give you the steps to get started and point you in the direction of additional resources to help you.
Wow what a busy den meeting! Lions joined the Tigers to earn our technology adventures. We explored the entire school looking for examples of technology and our parents even showed us some of the technology they used when they were younger. In addition to our technology adventure we also worked on our outdoor adventures by sorting animals into wild and domestic and learning about trees as we worked on our leaf rubbing art project.
This hike looked so Fun! Glad everyone could make it and help us find all of the scare crows.
Together with our Tiger friends the Lion den worked with shapes and numbers. We used shapes to build our Lions and drew the jungle around them. We also played many games that that involved shapes and counting!
Welcome New Lion Families!
The Lions joined the Tigers at the first den meeting of the year to work on the first steps of understanding what it means to be a cub scout. We played with Lego puzzles to learn about the Scout Oath and Law, we demonstrated principles of the Scout Law by leading each other blindfolded through a maze, we played a game to show that we knew the scout sign, handshake and salute and we talked about doing our best, the Cub Scout motto!. We also learned about the fundamental cub scout principal of Conservation by taking used materials and making bird feeders out of them!
