Pack Camp Out

Intro to Pack Camp Out

  • Each year Pack 30 plans a camp out in June to celebrate the end of the scouting year and welcome in Summer.
  • All family members are welcome to attend.
  • This is a great introduction to camping.
  • You will need to bring your own tent and sleeping bags, but if you don't have these items don't let that stop you from coming. You can show up for the day's activities and not camp, or let us know you need any of these items and many of the Pack 30 families can loan you the items for the weekend.
  • If you really don't want to camp, please join us on Saturday for a fun day at the park.

Cost for Pack Camp Out

  • Fees vary by year, and the location of the site.
  • For 2017, the cost is $3 per non-registered scout attending.
  • Each vehicle will need a state park sticker or you will need to purchase a parking pass upon arrival.
  • We also request that you bring a portion of one or two of the meals.

General Information about this Camp

  • June 9th - 11th, 2017
  • 3 Days, 2 Night
  • Richard Bong Recreation Center
  • Typically, Friday night is pretty relaxed. Eat before you arrive, and set up camp sometime before dark (preferrably :). On Saturday, we eat breakfast, other campers may arrive to set up, and the activities begin. There is a break for lunch, then we do some sort of group game or activity. We may have a craft, a hike and/or some other activity. The evening usually involves working together to cook dinner, followed by a campfire program put on by the boys.
  • Sunday morning involves a breakfast and then we break camp. We are typically out by 10:00am.
  • This year, 2017, we will also be holding a Rocket Launch. New scouts that registered in the 2016-2017 school year will recieve a free rocket. Other scouts that want to participate will need to purchase a $5 rocket kit from the pack and assemble it prior to arriving at the campout. The pack will provide engines, igniters and wadding for one launch.
