We had a good turnout for the annual Potawatomi Area Council Swamp Fox weekend camp-out. This was the 32nd anniversary for Swamp Fox. There were 12 families (35 people) participating, and we enjoyed a full weekend of fun activities. This year we were at the Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwanago, WI due to Camp Long Lake being closed from wind damage. The weekend was amazing with temperatures in the 60s and beautiful weather. Friday night was chilly, with temperatures dropping to 34 deg. Saturday was beautiful. Around 6:00pm the rain started, and we moved the Campfire program into one of their main buildings. Those that came were able to practice archery, BB gun shooting, a wood project to make a toolbox, capture the flag, "rock, paper scissors ultimate showdown" and more great activities that our Cub Scouts can only do at camp. All of our Scouts had a great time, enjoyed some fun with their fellow scouts and family, and met some new friends. Everyone that participated attained the Shooting Sports patch for Archery and BB Gun Shooting, progress toward their Outdoor Activity awards and some rank advancement for the activities they participated in. This was an excellent weekend, and I hope to see you all again next year! Congratulations to Szymon S. and Sam W. for being awarded the Order of the Swamp Fox. We look forward to seeing great things from you! |
