S.T.E.M. Night

posted Dec 4, 2015, 10:10 AM by Matt Wagner
At least once a year, Pack 30 hosts a STEM night to work on one of the aspects of the Nova/Supernova awards and the Engineering or Science adventures from the rank advancements. This year, we will be following design plans to construct Trebuchets that will launch tennis balls. Each scout is encouraged to bring a screwdriver and pen. We will be dividing into groups and constructing the trebuchets from pre-cut kits. This event will require adult help, so please volunteer for a supervisory position once the activities start.

Also, this evening we will be honoring two of our scouts that have received once of Scouting's highest awards in the STEM category, the Dr. Luis W. Alvarez Supernova Award. For more information on how your scout could earn this and other STEM awards through Scouting, please visit this page.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Pack meeting!
