SCOUTStrong Patch
For over three years now, the Boy Scouts of America and the President's Challenge program have teamed up to help Scouts of all ages and abilities increase their level of physical activity by completing the SCOUTStrong Presidential Lifestyle Award (PALA).

Please join us during the Nov. Pack meeting to start our ScoutStrong Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) activity and begin tracking your activities.

There is some information available on the Potawatomi Area Council President's Challenge page. You can download the tracking form from our site, or create an online account (with the help of a parent) that is tied to the Potawatomi Area Council team. Once created, you can Login using this link and start tracking your daily activities.

The process requires a 6-week commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle. You will need to be physically active (at least 60 minutes a day) for at least 5 days each week (performing some activities from this list), and meet a weekly healthy eating goal (see the list below). Each week you will add a new healthy eating goal while continuing to practice your previous goals. You have eight weeks to complete your logging activities.

The healthy eating goals include:
Make ½ your plate fruits and vegetables.
Eat more seafood.
Choose lean sources
of protein.
Drink water instead of
sugary drinks.
Consume less salt.
Consume more
whole grains.
Choose low- or no-fat
dairy.
Eat smaller portions.

Once you have completed your tracking and healthy eating habits, let your Den Leader or Cub Master know and we will order your patch.

You can find all of the details in the Program Overview.

We will follow-up with the second physical fitness testing at the Dec. Pack meeting to see how you've progressed over the course of 1 month.
