we will be utilizing Scoutbook (http://www.scoutbook.com) this year to track our Scout’s advancement. Scoutbook is a Web application that makes it easier for our Den Leaders and Committee members to manage Advancement, Meetings, Messaging and Training. The benefit is that you, as a parent or guardian of a scout can also mark off and review advancement records for your Scout. Scoutbook is mobile device friendly and is an easy reference for you to see how your Scout is progressing throughout the year. Scoutbook is free for parents to track their Scout. Our Pack has purchase the Pack Plan at $1 per scout to make our Leaders jobs easier. You will not need to purchase a Family plan to track your scouts, this is covered under our Pack Plan. If you have more than one Scout in our pack and do not see all of them listed, let me know and I’ll make sure your connections are set up correctly. Also, as your Scout graduates from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, you can continue to utilize their account for free to track advancement. If you move to a Boy Scout Troop that uses Scoutbook, the account transfers easily. Some of you may have noticed a message from Scoutbook already, asking you to connect with your Scout. While not necessary, I do encourage you to try it out. If you have questions while using the program, please check the Scoutbook Forums as a quick resource that answers most questions. If you’re still having issues, please ask. We will occasionally send out meeting reminders and invitations through Scoutbook. Please make sure you have info@scoutbook.com added to your e-mail filters (especially if you’re using Hotmail). More info on this can be found here. If you enter your cell phone information, we can send you text updates of last minute meeting changes due to inclement weather. Please try it out, add notes to your scout’s activities, and share any feedback you have on the program with me. |
