River Rats 2017 was awesome! Over the weekend Pack 30 had an incredible turnout for the 31st Annual Potawatomi Area Council River Rats weekend camp-out. We had 23 families (62 people) participate, and Pack 30 was the largest group in attendance. The weekend was beautiful with a light rain Friday night after 9:00 and some chilly 35 degree weather for sleeping overnight. Spirits were high, though, and we had lots of fun during the campfire program and the other activities. Those that came were able to practice archery, BB gun shooting, fire building, wall climbing, group games, and more great activities that our Cub Scouts can only do at camp. There was also some Ga-ga ball played, by demand of our scouts :) All of our Scouts had a great time, enjoyed some fun with their fellow scouts and family, and met some new friends. Everyone that participated attained progress toward the Shooting Sports patch for Archery and BB Gun Shooting, the Outdoor Activity awards, and some rank advancement for the activities they participated in. Feel free to update Scoutbook with any activities your scout participated in. This was an excellent weekend, and I hope to see you all again next year! |
