The air is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change. This month we will be meeting at the Retzer Nature center to enjoy some of the outdoors. This is on Wednesday, October 12th at 6:15pm. S14 W28167 Madison St Waukesha, WI 53188 Tigers and Wolves will be doing a quick hike following the Trail Trekker guide - Outer Green Trail – (0.91miles). The Bears and Webelos will be following the Fen Boardwalk trail (0.41 mi). There is a trail map here if you are interested. We are not limited by start time, so please meet us on the West side of the Learning Center as early as 6:00 to participate in the gathering activity. The meeting will start promptly at 6:15 with the flag ceremony followed by a quick talk about the Retzer Nature center and the Leave No Trace Principles. As a gathering activity we will be making attendance pins for our new attendance board, so please try to arrive earlier than 6:15. Those scouts that already have an attendance pin will be working on a Leave No Trace poster for display. Since it’s getting dark earlier, please bring a flashlight. All scouts should be in uniform. Please dress appropriately for the weather, we will be outside the entire time. The Bear Den scouts have the opening ceremony. They will need to arrive at least 10 minutes early to prepare and set up. The Webelos 1 (4th graders) have the gathering activity. They too will need to arrive at least 10 minutes early. After the hike we will hear from the dens on what they worked on this past month and hand out any awards scouts have earned since the last pack meeting. Any new scouts that have completed their Bobcat requirements will also have a special ceremony this night. Please make sure your Den Leader knows you've completed these prior to the Pack meeting. We hope to see you there. As always, in case of heavy rain or lightning, we will meet at the Randall Gym instead and have an alternate activity. ! There is some road construction on Madison St. near the Retzer. If you’re coming in from the east, you may want to take Hwy 18 instead. There is a Map on the Retzer Facebook page. ! For any Webelos scouts that are participating in the Cross Country event, you should have time to make it to the meeting, but if not, we'll have you catch up to the other Webelos when you arrive. Just call or text your Den Leader so they are aware. |
