It’s mid-way through August and as we close out the summer, I’d like to offer up a Pack activity at Minooka Park.  We will meet at 1:30pm in the parking lot for Picnic Area 3.  There are a few short trails that start there that we could hike.  While we hike, we will talk about the Front Country guidelines for the “Leave No Trace” award, and what the essential items for an outdoor activity are.  Following the hike, I would like the scouts to work on a small poster or project that we could use in the upcoming open house at Randal.  We’ll have markers and paper.  There are lots of opportunities to work on electives and achievements for the various ranks, plus we get to show off a little bit of what we do to our potential Scouts at the open house.
