Lion Program for 2016-2017

posted May 24, 2016, 9:49 AM by Matt Wagner
In a recent Cub Scout news post, a new pilot program is being started for 5-year-old boys entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2016. Pack 30 has applied and been selected as one of the pilot packs to help run this program.

In this past, this has been known as the Seeker program, but that program had ended in 2014. In the new program, Lion scouts will participate in up to 4 Pack meetings, and hold 8 den meetings with go-see-it field trips to various city locations.

The den leaders will be supported by an existing den leader with experience, and each parent in the den (6-8 boys) will be in charge of one or two events.

The meeting plans and activities are all defined in the Lion Parent Guide.

Lion scouts will not be required to fund raise. The only costs are scout registration, the Lion T-shirt (uniform) and the purchase of the activity book.

Pack 30 will be holding a Lion orientation meeting in late August or early September with details on everything. Please sign up at the Randall School open house if you have a 5-K student and are interested in joining our Pack for this exciting program.
