The Journey to Excellence award is given to packs that have met the requirements outlined by the Boy Scouts of America. Each year, there is a list of goals that a pack, district and council must meet in order to be considered for the award. There are three levels as well: bronze, silver and gold. The requirements range from increasing and maintaining membership in the pack, providing activities and having scouts participate in those activities, training the pack leadership, and communicating the pack activities and yearly plan to the parents and scouts. This year, Pack 30 achieved 1875 total points in 11 of the 13 categories and was awarded the Gold level once again thanks to the pack leadership and the involvement of our parents and youth. So, thank you all for helping us achieve this goal! We will be receiving a ribbon commemorating this achievement from the council. This ribbon will be placed on our pack flag during one of our upcoming pack meetings. In addition, scouts are able to purchase a patch from the Waukesha scout shop (or online at Scoutstuff.org) to wear on the right-sleeve of their uniform. Attached to this announcement is the 2014 JTE checklist for Packs. If you have questions, please let us know. |
